There are few restaurants open for lunch, but this udon shop radiates a unique lively atmosphere. The udon is similar to the firm texture of Sanuki udon. I enjoyed a wonderful lunch with rice and fried horse mackerel, which was quite carb-heavy. It was very delicious.
Located near Awa-Ikeda Station, this dining establishment is practically the only option for travelers looking to have lunch in Awa-Ikeda. It has become a gathering place for the fortunate locals with amenities such as the city hall, JR station, post office, and Awa Bank. The conversations are loud and filled with information about the company's situation and customers' family backgrounds, with no regard for information management. The udon might not be that delicious, but the staff are friendly, particularly the beautiful hostess. After the consumption tax hike in October of Reiwa 1 (2019), prices were raised by 10%, which, despite already being cheap, leaves a sense of unease. The set meals have a substantial amount of food, making them ideal for those who enjoy carbohydrates. Fun fact: the address of this restaurant is Salad in Ikeda-cho, Miyoshi City. It was originally called Sarada, but this area has many katakana-based place names. Hopefully, it will be featured on a TV show like Brataro Mori someday.
During lunchtime, this restaurant offers a variety of affordable menu items and is popular among customers. However, because it was cold, I decided to have the tempura soba. The noodles were thick and cut into pieces, characteristic of the Sanuki soba, and the broth was light and reminiscent of a countryside flavor. The cold soba with tempura that the young man next to me was eating looked delicious.
