The konnyaku had a firm texture and a strong flavor. The hiraten, as described by the staff, was like a "flat chikuwa." At first glance, it looked like hanpen, but it had a firm texture and a nice crispy finish due to being deep-fried in oil, making it both fragrant and filling. They mentioned that you could take it home for an additional 50 yen, which I thought was convenient for long-distance driving on Route 4 when you're in the mood for a snack. ^o^
The noodles were shiny and the texture was chewy! Excellent! I tried the tempura shrimp on a bed of noodles, but didn't realize that all the tempura would come on the side (lol). I ended up adding some fish cake tempura too. The tempura was crispy and fresh, and the chicken tempura was tender and delicious!
The kashiwa tempura is the best! The udon noodles also have a nice chewiness and taste really delicious. It's no surprise that it's crowded even early in the day.
