I called here on the off chance it would be open when I came for a walk away from the city and I was not disappointed. There was a roaring log fire in the hearth, a fantastic selection of cakes and treats and a great coffee. Well worth a visit in any season.
I gave this a one star because of the lack of hygiene, the very slow line and the below average cafe fare. The hygiene is always an issue, especially in these times. I saw staff going back and forth outside to collect trays and then prepping orders with unwashed hands. Not a glove in sight, and staff was handling salad, sandwiches and sandwich meat with bare hands. The service was unnecessarily slow and there were dogs inside, one was up table height. There was no social distancing and the staff was not particularly friendly. I won't come back. I am sure there are better cafés in Stockholm. The ambiance is cute but small, but they provide a large patio with 2 table heater at 2 of the tables.
The view and location are great. Sitting outside seems lovely. The menu is basic, not much different from similar places in Stockholm. One observation made me accutely aware how Sweden is dealing with Covid: the lady behind the bar preparing the sandwiches was not wearing any gloves, while handpicking ingredients like slices of cheese, lettuce, etc, from different plastic containers from the fridge. When done she went straight to the cooler, with the same unwashed bare hands, to get an apple juice. Then she started adding ice cubes to empty glasses, getting the cubes out of the ice box with her bare hands ! , again without washing. That was just one order I witnessed while queueing. Flabbergasted. Even in Corona times, basic hygiene rules are apparently not common practice here.
We visited around Midsommar and it said on their website they were open and they even had a chalk board sign up outside saying they were open too, but when you got up to the door there was a sign saying they were closed! We were really looking forward to eating here and came out of our way to visit, but we were left disappointed.
