Go-In Hotpot Train - Adelaide

Surprisingly pretty good! It was a Tuesday night at this hotpot place, so a booking wasn't made nor necessarily needed, however the situation could have been a lot different for a Friday or Saturday night. As winter approaches, hotpot was the perfect dinner for a group of 4 people. Plenty to share around, ingredients for a reasonable price, and delicious homely soup broth. The soup bases ordered were tom yum and pork rib, which in my view is a perfect combination if you want something light after eating something spicy and sour. Both were really delicious along with the meat, mushrooms, tofu, crab balls, yong gap (greens), etc. Service was also on par with the food, with friendly staff tending to us whenever. But once again, the situation could be different for a Friday or weekend, mainly because hotpot would be very demanding on those days. (P.S. If you're halfway through the hotpot then I don't recommend you adding more plain pork soup broth, because this will not enhance the flavours, and it would be too much to finish.)

First time there and never going back. Had to wait ages to be served while this other table kept getting asked if they wanted more food. Most restaurants like this ask if youve ever been there before, they didnt. So they never told us that there was already meat in the soup. We ordered a soup base thinking it would just be soup. Menu doesnt say anything about any meat or noodles. So we ordered meat and noodles to put in. Lady taking order didnt say anything at all. 2 people ordering heaps, youd try and tell them theres meat and noodles in the soup. Soup was more of chilli oil than soup. Oil was so thick it was ridiculous. Soup started boiling again (after i turned it down a staff put it on high again) and spat on to my arm and actually blistered from so much oil. Hot plate was dirty. If my partner told me earlier i would have left. Cashier was rude. Started talking to me in their language. I asked to repeat it, rolled her eyes and printed out a receipt to check if it was the meal we ordered. She couldnt be bothered reading it out in english i guess. So disappointed. Never going back.

Really love going here! The flavour of the soup bases are really well done and especially recommend the Tom Yum soup base ???? really love the sugar cane and plum juice aswell! The ingredients are very fresh and assortments of ingredients for the sauce! Highly recommend, staff were very nice and helped us well even though it was very busy ????
