Very tasty, simple, honest and traditional restaurant in the middle of Afionas. The food convinced us, especially choosing the food yourself in the kitchen is a unique experience. In addition to eating, you can also enjoy the sunset. It is a nice, peaceful place, not fancy, but plane in the good way. They have a few dishes, not a lot to choose from, but local ones in majority and they taste very good. Our regular restaurant since 2001! There's really nothing more to say! Important: The other reviews that criticize mackerel for €15 (Peter Moritz), for example, are registered at the wrong restaurant (e.g. also Carsten Fröhlich)! The pergola does not have this dish! The first picture is also not of the pergola. No clothes are sold there. Unfortunately, such errors cannot be easily corrected. Conclusion: Most negative postings are wrong or due to your own (rude) behavior. So don't be put off, go and enjoy! Parking: 2 parking spaces that belong to the house. You can also “park” the cars parked there. If the person wants to get out, just pull to the side for a moment. This tavern next to the church in Afionas is a wonderfully authentic place for authentic Greek-Corfiot food that stands out from the tourist monotony. Unfortunately, I discovered it too late because other restaurants in the area seemed more “tempting” at first glance due to their view or stylish ambience... The inner values clearly score points in the Pergola: We had two wonderful meals on the vine-covered terrace and all the dishes we ordered were extremely tasty. You follow the waiter into the kitchen and choose your menu directly by looking at the pots. I can particularly recommend the stuffed eggplant, the rabbit stifado and the orange cake (to die for! . We would have liked to come and look at the pots more often, but unfortunately the vacation was already over.
