The collection in the bar looked impressive too. Staff was friendly too...But food was no match too the first impression. They were running short of vegetarian starters and struggled to keep my plate full. Cheeze corn balls and lime potatoes were just ordinary. My friends were not impressed with Fish and Chicken too. While choice of Salad and taste was good. Main course and soup were disappointment. Only flavor in chicken was uncooked oil. Mixed vegetables tasted straight out of cold storage. Aloo Methi was uncooked. Dal and Rice were saving grace to fill the belly. Mix veg in black beans sauce was just lost cause. Nothing much to say about dessert. Mango Mouse and Rice Kheer were just acceptable. Honeyed noodles were good.It was Friday so we went early to get table. In another 30 minutes there as more crowd for than staff could manage. INR399 after all is half of other restaurants in the vicinity. My guess is that it is introductory price. It was chaos. My advice - 1. find your best dish to add to buffet for which I would be happy to get up from seat. 2. Dessert in buffet is not just formality. It is serious business. First thing first. Don't serve me desert from bar counter. Make room for it. Honeyed noodles were good but were was vanilla ice cream that goes really well with it. 3. Avoid serving starters on table. It will free your staff to do more for customers. 4. One less table and there will be room for starters and desserts. 5. If there are too many people for buffet; it right thing to say no to some customers or ask them to wait. Staff in the kitchen can only do so much. It is not ideal for new restaurants to have manager is running for rice in kitchen.6. If INR 399 is too low raise it to INR499. But impress me to come again with food. All the best.. I just read story of how the pilot for Game Of Thrones miserably failed. I wish you learn from the pilot rise. Soon.
The restaurant is called a Restobar which means you can sit at the bar with drinks or sit at a table/booth and drink/eat.We decided to go for a comfy booth and rather than have a starter and main course we decided to go for 4 starters between the 2 of us as we were advised that the sharing meat platter would serve about 8!The tandoori chicken was excellent with a lovely smoky flavour and nice moist chicken, the lamb was mostly fine but had quite a bit of fat/gristle so was rather chewy, the chicken satay was very good but the satay sauce was rather thin and the tandoori prawns were lovely and juicy served with peppers in a prawn cocktail glass. All of the food was presented really well, with banana leaves and a sauce and along with the Miller beers it was a great dinner although I would have preferred wine but they were all out of wine this evening! We shall return.
Had visited on a Thursday evening with friends and found the place nearly empty at 9 pm. Though our order for snacks was provided promptly we faced issue with the main order. We had ordered noodles with a gravy and paneer dish with roti for main course. It took forever to be served and we ended up giving 3 - 4 reminders. Finally when the food came they served fried rice instead of noodles. Since it was getting late for us we didn't argue at all and decided to eat what was served. The food otherwise is good and the ambience is good.
We were here for lunch with colleagues in the afternoon. It wasn't crowded, and the ambience was quite nice and inviting. The manager, a lady was most helpful with all the dishes - patiently explaining the dishes and helping us finalize.Non veg dishes were quite nice, and the starters. The Chinese preparation was average. Rest was good to eat, in fact we repeated the dishes also. The prices were reasonable. It was a good place for a quick office lunch party.
Loved the place, great service by Francis, the manager. The other stewards can do better. Happy hours are until 9pm, the starter of the day was very good, discovered it by accident but was not disappointed.
