Rangla Punjab - Alcochete

While visiting Alcochete we ate here twice and were happy with our dinners both times. My kids live in Alcochete part of the year and eat here several times a week and are loyal patrons. You won't find many tourists here, which is a good thing when it comes to food.

A cosy, little Indian restaurant with excellent food and wonderful customer service. Attentive, but not intrusive, staff, nothing too much trouble. Offering superb service and advice. Food is hot and tasty, spiced to suit your personal taste. Beer was server in a glass taken straight from the freezer, what a great idea. Garlic naan was unbelievable. Chicken madras without the burn, cooked perfect. The bill was also just as good on the wallet. Best curry I’ve ever had.

We stopped here on our first night,as we were familiar with Indian food and not disappointed with our choice. If you know your Indian dishes it is not too difficult to order from the menu. Service was prompt, and food tasteful.

The staff was very vegan friendly, even labeling our preference as vegan without us using that word. For example, the lunch menu comes with garlic naan but I asked for it to be switched to roti or to not have it at all. They brought us roti with no issue. The staff also told us my order would originally contain cheese because I missed that description but were able to veganize the dish with no problem to me. Most important, the food was absolutely delicious. I loved the small town feel of the surroundings and that we could sit outside. Outdoor seating was a huge plus, as hosting events outside is an important way to help avoid the spreading and catching of COVID-19.
