New name new owners. Now local Portuguese cafe for locals. Loud smoky. No Sunday roast. : Big plate of meat or fish, white bread, olives. For 2 people 18 euros. Worst meal in Portugal so far :

We had a very enjoyable first visit here, with friendly attentive service and those that had it, ravings about the seafood rice (which was paella by any other name). A couple thought they'd chosen badly, but all agreed to return, preordering the seafood to ensure the restaurant was not surprised. We had a very disappointing second visit here, with still friendly but totally inattentive service (the wait for gin and tonics alone exceeded 1 hour). The raved about seafood rice was watery, tasteless and bulked up with crab sticks. Some gave up waiting for their food all together. Not sure what happened. It had all gone wrong. We all agreed not to return.

Wonderful food with the extra touch and fantastic spices. It is quite different from the main stream Portuguese cuisine. From the terrace you have great views over the ocean. It is certainly worth the detour from Tavira.

We went with friends and shared the meat and fish platters. The food was excellent and so was the service. We are staying in the area for the next month and will definitely return. We tour the Algarve extensively and little gems like this are getting more difficult to find. Make the most of it
