Chez Fano - Alençon

Incredible food in a brilliant setting, sitting outside opposite the beautiful, sadly dilapidated Le Grand Cerf. Each of our courses a real treat and staff and chef personable and pleasantly efficient.

Made us wonder if it had been plated during the lunch shift. The desserts were fine. Such a pity as very few other places were open, it being a Monday

We were on an overnight stay while travelling on our family holiday. The restaurant was one of a few recommended by the owner of the hotel we were staying at. We were greeted and offered a terrace seat and then presented with menus which came in the format of an iPad which then displayed the menu in your choice of language complete with photos which was a great help given we had two teenagers with us. The waiter was great, spoke English and also indulged us with our attempts at finch. The menu was varied and the quality of food was fantastic. All the staff were attentive and helpful. The prices were fair €140 for 4 x 3 course meals c/w drinks. We would certainly eat there again if we are back in Alençon next year.

This place came highly recommended by our hotelier and other trip advisor reviewers. We unfortunately didn’t get to have any food as we were completely ignored for half an hour then we left. They were VERY busy but half an hour is not acceptable. Really disappointed.

Ne pas hésiter ! Accueil, saveurs, cadre même si salle petite cela fait partie du charme de l'endroit. Nous avions fait confiance aux avis, faites de même.
