Cattails Grille - Alpena

Party of 8. Alfredo was not very flavorful. Needed more butter and cream. Prime rib was tough with lots of fat. Waitress was less than professional. Service was extremely slow.

TLDR: Sat down, waited too long to be served, left without even having our order taken after 30 mins because the drunk waitress gave us menus and came back saying they 're all out . All out of what? Service? Full story: Was looking for a late dinner after a long day at grandpa 's funeral that ended at 8pm. Got into this bar at 9:40pm. Made sure to check that there was no kitchen closes at... sign. Walked in, saw a seat yourself sign and sat down visibly at a booth. It took the waitresses more than 15 minutes of us sitting there with no menu or acknowledgement of our presence (even though they saw us come in) to come over. When the waitress finally came over, she basically collapsed drunk on our table and said what can I getcha? We said, we 'd like some food. She tells us they 're all out of the all-you-can-eat cod. We say ok. She comes back slapping the menus on our table and walks away. It took us like 3 mins to decide what we wanted and we waited until 10:10pm while she walked around the bar and sat down with some guests to drink with them (her back to us). At 10:10, she comes back collapsing on our table again to retract the menus and says, sorry, we 're all out. Out of what? I don 't know. I kindly said thank you and we left. We waited half an hour just so she can tell us that they don 't have any food.....(but the guy in the kitchen was clearly serving fries to the guys at the bar). Won 't ever be returning. Will also spread the word to our sister and her husband who will be moving to the area in a few weeks.

I love a good burrito and Cattails has burritos that are excellent. Other dishes we have tried are also very good. Staff is friendly and fun. We appreciate the quality of the food and the friendly relaxed atmosphere. The owners are down to earth folks who want diners to enjoy their cuisine.

Great comfort food. Several flavors of Shrimp Cocktail. I personally like the Old Bay shrimp. Burgers seem good as well. I Staff is friendly and accommodating. I look forward to my next visit here.

Always good food. Wait staff is very friendly. Pizza is awesome. Very affordable and family friendly. Love the all you can eat fish
