La Belle Cantiniere - Angoulême

The meal was excellent. It is a truckers stop, but don't let that put you off. The buffet starter was absolutely fantastic. What a choice, so fresh and varied. Plenty of choices of plat principal, served to you table. My omelette was cooked to perfection, and that's not something that you can often say. Great choices of cheeses and desserts. Incredible value for money. Just 13.50€ vin compris. The staff were really attentive and nice.. Can't fault it. This is not the first time we have been here, and it definitely won't be the last...

We were taken here by friends whilst staying in the area. Its really a road side eatery on the southbound carriageway of the N10 just south of Mansle. The decor is dated but clean. I suspect its mainly used as a lunchbreak by passing vehicles heading to all points south and relies on its reputation for decent, good value food to keep busy. We went for an evening meal 15 eur for a buffet, main meal, cheese and sweet. The buffet was comprehensive, ranging from sea food to pate's. All the food was fresh and tasty and you could have as much as you liked. The main choices were basic, steak chips, chicken chips, gammon etc but were again very tasty and in more than adequate portions. The table also had a bottle of house wine thrown in for the price. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. They are trying to build up the evening trade and based on this experience I would definitely recommend visiting if in the area or passing through. Very good value and no complaint about the quality of the food.

Convenient carpark. We stopped for late morning coffee on the drive down from Poitou to Dax. Warm welcome and prompt service by staff. Toilets clean. Only a few people in, and croissant etc on offer.

For 13,5€ rich buffet of incomings, 10 seconds to choose and, cheese and dessert or 2 desserts. The place on the normal side, the nice restaurant, the bathrooms to reform. The super attentive waiters, arrived late and invited us in, served 4 people to explain the menu in Spanish.Enchanted with the attention, we would repeat without hesitation.

Non-climatized restaurant... price of the meal too expensive for a road...The chain of cold unrespected for the free service of admissions and desserts. The dishes are not cooked with celá flavor remains very average .15 euros the menu.
