Jethro's Bbq Lakehouse - Ankeny

Jethro’s BBQ in Ankeny, very similar to other locations in Des Moines metro area. All of the food is really good, especially their smoked meats. Probably my favorite wings anywhere! The jalapeño cream corn is great. If you like a good breaded tenderloin sandwich, you can’t go wrong with Jethro’s.

We showed up for lunch with a team of younger baseball players, coaches, parents, and siblings. We had just over an hour and we knew it might be cutting it close. The waitress was on top of her game and she let us know this wasn’t her first rodeo. She raised her voice (in a nice way) and told the kiddos that they had to be quiet and in their seats to be able to order food. Orders went in, everyone ate, food was great, and we made it back in time for the next game. Jethro’s is always good food, the service this time around was outstanding and I’m glad we got the person we did for our wait staff. The place is usually pretty busy, but they always do a good job of getting people seated quickly and making Jethro’s a great time for everyone.

This is the breakfast nachos. So good. I got turkey and it was great. The sauce in the bottom was the best ever.

All satisfied. Short 15 min wait for party of 9 on a Sunday. Employees working hard and hustling. Expect to wait and have cups empty for a bit bc of staff being tight. However. Didn't bother or ruin our experience. People need grace and patience!

You know it's good when the lot is full at lunchtime in the middle of the week. We had great service and a great meal. We had boneless wings and the Boss Hog sandwich. The portions were very generous. The waffle fry's are great, coleslaw and beans were good as well. The building is very well kept and the tables were promptly cleaned. Go with an appetite!
