But the local workers were all there always a good sign, so I remained. I've always been right. The menu du jour for 13 Euro began with terrine de maison, with generous slices of two different pates. Both were delicious. The lapin a la mode de Caen was the first rate, and the only slight disappointment was the desert (pour madame) and the cheese selection. Off the beaten track for most, but very good value and well worth the trek if you are somewhere in the area, ie shopping for old oak beams and door furniture in the nearby Reclamation Yard.
I visited this restaurant twice over the last three months. On every occasion it was lunch and we chose the menu du Jour. Every time it was in a family group and all were satisfied with the choice and amount of food.... Although Menu du Jour there was a choice. Seafood is a specialty and the Prawn entree superb. We found that the standard of chips varied considerably between the two occasions. The only other disadvantage for me was the taste of the red wine served with the meal. The menu included, duck, dish, desert, wine and coffee. The service was attentive, but can be a bit hectic when the restaurant is full. However, you need to admire them for their ability to deal with the pressure. Do not let the outside of the restaurant stand out as it looks a bit like a commercial unit. But once inside it is spacious and very well presented. You need to look for the first time you go there as it is from the main road along the small road along the Maison du temps libre.

This is our second visit to this restaurant, both for Sunday lunch. Four course meal for under 30 euros with each course of excellent quality and generous portions. Heartily recommended.
A very 'ordinary' looking place but a warm friendly reception, a good if limited range but excellent food and good value
