Justamere Cafe and Bistro - Antigonish

Stayed at the adjoining hotel..went here for breakfast Breakfast was okay.

After a quick look over the menu at Justamere, I was ready to not be happy with my breakfast experience.

A group of 11 of us went to celebrate a birthday(with reservations made) and the experience was not good for sure. The only good part of this was the waitress. Asked about gluten free options as I have celiac. The only 2 things they could provide were baked salmon and baked haddock. Orders were taken on one side of the table then the other side. A few people ordered appetizers and the guest next to me ordered a cup of chowder. Three appetizers were delivered and 2 people waited and waited and asked about their appetizers. One side of the table got their main courses while these 2 had still not received their appetizers. One side of the table all receiver their meals while 6 of us had nothing. The waitress came to the table and told us there was a problem with the data when the orders were placed and only half of the table's orders had gone in. They said they were trying to prepare the orders as quickly as possible. My order of salmon finally arrived which consisted of a piece of salmon, about 2 tablespoons of diced vegetables and a small bowl of salad which I had requested instead of potatoes or rice. The salad had lettuce, red onion and 1 cherry tomato cut in half. The guest next to me had ordered baked salmon with potatoes and when it arrived it was a piece of salmon and 6 small pieces of diced potatoes! One guest ordered seafood linguini and it had 5 shrimp and a few pieces of small peruvian scallops. The guest on the other side received the same amount of diced potatoes with her pork chops. When the waitress came back the guests said that the amount was terrible and she went to the kitchen and brought a side plate with some more diced potatoes. We finally all received our food with the exception of one guest who had only ordered a bowl of fish chowder and he tried to catch the waitress to tell her not to bother bringing it as everyone else had eaten when she arrived with his chowder. She kept apologizing for the delay and also had to apologize to other tables around us because their meals were taking so long. Free deserts were offered to our table due to the problems and although I didn't partake those that did said the coconut cream pie was very good. This is a very small restaurant with maybe a dozen tables. The prices were high for the meals they provided and I would definitely not go there again. One guest who waited so long jokingly said he was going to call to have a pizza delivered to him. Not a good place to eat for sure.

Food poor, burnt, potatoes burnt and greasy. Eggs cold, cold english muffin. Ordered tea earl grey were sever regular tea. Service Ho Hum.

Good fast service,good food and reasonable priced even though it was a motel dining room. we would go back there again.
