Kee Wah Bakery Cafe - Arcadia

I decided to try this bakery, I’ve heard pretty good things about this bakery. I’ve asked a few questions as I prefer something less sweet. The lady looked at me as if I was bothering her. I got some egg tarts and decided to give Black Forest Cake a try. The egg tarts aren’t too special. I’d go back to JJ bakery for better service and their best egg tarts. The Black Forest cake is dry and doesn’t taste fresh. Maybe give it a chance but I don’t recommend it there are much better bakery in the area.

Regrets me to share this negative review, since the baked goods are solid. But the service can be pretty lacking. Turned up at 3:45pm on a Friday, and they were inexplicably closing for the day over an hour early new hours not posted online, not apologetic whatsoever, even though I saw they had some remaining baked goods in their display cabinet. Lots of options of equal or higher quality in the area. Likely will not return

Very disappointed with this kee wah bakery as we had special ordered a cake and noticed the fruit on the cake had made the rest of the cake spoil after one day of picking up the cake. This was a large order and costed us $54 for my mom's birthday. We had distributed this cake to friends and family. So i am embarrassed when i found that the fruit i found on my portion was spoiled. I spoke to the general manager, Gina, on the phone about how the cake smelt spoiled and how we found a strawberry going bad on the center of the cake. She completely understood and asked that we come in no later than 5:30pm for a full refund. When i arrived, Gina had already left and there were only 3 other ladies that could help. Sadly, they werent very helpful because they completely dismissed our concerns and played it off like we were in the wrong to even suggest a spoilt cake. I was in such disbelief that one of the ladies, Francis, would deny, deny, deny our concerns. She kept on making excuses like how it isnt strawberry season so the fruit is supposed to be sour. However the kind of sour we mentioned is from the entirety of the cake. We could smell the cake and it definitely felt off. Im very disappointed with how they were indirectly calling us liars and refusing to provide any good customer service. We usually go to the kee wah bakery in san gabriel but since we moved, this one was the closest. Clearly not the best. I suggest people avoid this bakery. The bread is dry and not as tasty and the cakes clearly aren't made fresh even if special ordered. The service is practically non-existent if the staff will indirectly accuse you of lying to them. I cant even believe we had to witness such awful customer service.

Hands down one of the best egg custard in Arcadia (626) area. They have the original and Portuguese style egg custards. Can't go wrong with either. I prefer the Portuguese custard. It has a little more depth. The custard is slightly creamier, and the crust has a flakiness to it.

The people was not nice they yell at my mom for picking up the cakes I ordered late because I was in hospital unable to make it no one should yell at the customers it was so rude
