Le Saint James - Arras

We found this place by accident on our way into the town, the menu was small but looked appealing so we went in. we were the only customers when we arrived and were a little dubious. The waiter, possibly the owner, came to greet us and was very welcoming. I asked for a wine list and he suggested a Cote de Rhone white it was excellent! The starter of King prawns in a chorizo sauce was full of concentrated flavour and was one of the most enjoyable starters I have eaten. We had a very good Scallop risotto for the main course and a strawberry mille feuille to die for. A truly excellent meal, very friendly and attentive staff and a great wine all for 75 euros! I wished I lived in Arras!

I went here every evening for a meal and found the food well cooked and very good choice. The price was right for the sort of food offered and the waiters were helpful.

There are so many restaurants in Place Foch because of the train station, so we were lucky to have seen positive reviews on Trip Advisor and tried this unassumingly quiet restaurant. What a delight! Some of the best food I've had and certainly in Arras. My choice was the Calf's liver with Apple Crumble to follow perfectly prepared and totally delicious. Shame they don't open at the weekend as there is only one chef, but so worth a visit and at very reasonable prices too. The Apple Crumble was seriously the best I've ever eaten. Really recommend!

We really enjoyed our visit to Le Saint James, after deciding not to eat in our Hotel we went looking for somewhere near by it and found this restaurant. We were warmly greeted by the proprietor and despite our very poor understanding of French were able to order dinner with his help. The menu is written on a blackboard and was very reasonably priced with plenty to choose from, we ordered Veal and pork fillet, both were very good sized portions came with a lovely potato dauphinois and salad all washed down with a lovely bottle of very good French wine at a very reasonable price. We asked if we could have some cheese after main course and although it was not on the menu he found us some which was much appreciated. All in all a very good meal at a very good price with very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Deserves to be discovered. quality restoration and care for a very reasonable price. perfect for groups
