After an amazing day skiing at Kamui this is a great to relax with a beer a have a chat with the friendly local Japanese.
Friendly, safe, foreigner welcome bar. Very welcome to stumble upon this place, many local expats that work and live in asahikawa frequent here, a great place to meet locals and expats. Though on more than a few occasions I got a very strong stomach ache and nausea and a beer that wasn't accounted for in my check.
Darn difficult to find, it's located in the upper floor inside a building, a-la-Hongkonese. The tenders are nice and can speak some limited English. I wasn't charged otoshi, which is great, but then they add 10% tax on top of the prices. Smoky atmosphere, which I loathe. Too tourist-oriented for my taste. Zero authenticity.
If you are a foreigner visiting Asahikawa, this is the perfect place for you. It is a large and friendly venue with board games, darts, guitar, piano, poker table, pool table, and more. They offer all-you-can-drink options and also host Halloween parties.
