South Of Philly - Asheville

Filthy place and staff, tiny portion, long wait. Felt like I needed to Take a shower myself when I left there. Ordered a Reuben. It was a wee bit of chopped corned beef cooked with a smidgeon of sauerkraut and a bit of swiss cheese spread between two small pieces of barely warmed rye bread with some kind of strange sauce not traditional Russian or 1000 Island dressing). Cost $12 for that! There was a baby penned on the floor on the side of dining area and it seemed like the very young mother was the grill cook. Granma and assorted others were there too. All of them had on filthy clothing and generally looked quite unkempt. I cannot believe the health department hasn’t shut this place down! The one positive thing I will say is that all the people were very friendly!

I have visited this location several times and have gotten a wide variety of menu items and they never disappoint. The food is always delicious and the staff is always super friendly. 10/10 would recommend!!!

For a fast food type place, this was pretty good. Is it an actual one of a kind philly cheesesteak? Not quite BUT it's much better than places like Charley's, etc. This also wasn't our original planned stop for dinner but when they place we wanted to go had a 2+ hour wait, this is where we ended up. I had a small group with me 6 people and it was great. South of Philly shares and outdoor seating space with Jack the Dipper next door. While we waited for our food, we got the smell of fresh made waffle cones from next door. Yum! The cost was great and the food was good. If you're looking for a quick and simple meal while there, give this place a try!

Delightful experience with great good. I order wings and fries as a light lunch and it did the job. I WILL be coming back for more food from them in the future!!

My go to spot anytime I'm craving a philly! I tried the philly cheesesteak on fries this time. This meal confirmed the existence of a loving God. Food like this is what I look forward to in a cheat meal!
