Macaroni's Ristorante - Ashland

I sat at the bar for a cocktail and dessert after having a late lunch elsewhere.Great Lavender Drop followed by the chocolate torte with raspberry sauce.

Macaroni's is an Ashland stollwort. It's a solid Italian restaurant. The menu is primarily pasta so if you are gluten free, this isn't the place for you. We had the Caesar salad, calzone and chicken parmesan. Don't get the chicken parmesan. It came out burned and had the consistency of leather. I sent it back and round two was better but not great. The rest of our meal was great. Prices are very reasonable for downtown Ashland. Service is very good. The super Tuscan wine was a standout at $34 a bottle. The location is a 10 especially if you are going to Shakespeare.

The food is mediocre at best. Not much selection or taste. The service was good. Really nice staff. The setting is picturesque. I have been there other times. It's handy because it's close to the theatre. The food is okay.Parking: Hard to find because of the theatre. Great location if you can find parking .
