Anchor Cafe - Atmore

Home cooking in a friendly atmosphere, and the place is very cozy. They have a special daily dish at 1 PM, but I was disappointed to find they only had one piece of cornbread left, which wasn't enough for all the delicious greens that came with the sausage. I’m curious why they close at 1:30 PM. The mac and cheese were tasty, but the tea could have used more sugar. You can request the menu since they don’t have it out. They don’t accept credit cards, which is a bit outdated; they really should get a card machine installed. The chicken was juicy and flavorful! The waitress was kind, and she checked on me after I waved my hand for service, but I wish she had come over again after I tasted my food. The daily special arrived hot just seconds after I placed my order. Overall, if you’re looking for a relaxed atmosphere with good home-cooked food, this is the place to be, but just remember to bring cash!

This is a great local diner for breakfast. The server was friendly, although our food took a while to arrive; luckily, we weren't in a rush. I ordered the Spanish omelette with hash browns and cookies, and everything was delicious!

This restaurant would have received a 5-star rating, but they don't accept credit or debit cards. The young waitress was incredibly kind and polite, showing great patience with a very rude older couple who kept banging the napkin holder on the table instead of simply asking for something. Bless her heart! The food was served quickly and was delicious, and the prices were very reasonable.

The food is FABULOUS!! Cook land! Vegetables are from farm to table. Great service friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely come back! Nice little hidden gem.

This is a beautiful little country cafe/ restaurant.. it has some really roomy tables and also very home town feel. Lots of locals and very friendly staff, clean restrooms and just a really beautiful hometown feel. I can not wait to end this review and eat my food... I hope to see you guys here one day, because I most definitely this place. I will be back
