Lao Sze Chuan - Aurora

Authentic Chinese cuisine. Could not have picked a better place for my bridal shower, 40th birthday party, and hubby’s birthday party this year. They do it all! The food is always amazing and the staff very friendly and accommodating. This is our go-to place for great tasting food and great service. The food we cannot stop raving about. We are never satisfied and want to keep trying everything on the menu.

We had seen negative comments on here and almost didn't try the restaurant. We realized the negatives were all older comments, the newer ones were more positive. We decided to ignore the negatives and go. We are SO glad we did. The food is amazing! Very authentic! It's a beautiful restaurant and the staff is so friendly. We met Max, Sandy and Mandy, who were all very outgoing and welcoming. We highly recommend Szechuan House.

I never leave reviews or comments.. But I am so very pleased with this restaurant that I had to leave a review as I finish my meal!! The food is fresh and wonderfully prepared!! But what really stood out for me was the amazing service! I've worked in restaurant/service industry for many years and our server, Simon, was one of the best servers I have ever had. He did such a great job taking care of our table of 7 people! We never once felt like we were waiting for anything and we had everything needed! The best Sichuan cuisine in the Chicago area. The Dan Dan noodles are superb! Don't miss out on the twice-cooked fish fillets (a modern twist on a classic dish). This is the place to find authentic Sichuan flavors, like the Rick and Morty sauce and garlic Tong Hao. Update: check out the cool tetrahexahedra lighting feature.

I have never had steamed rice this delicious in my life. The texture is perfect, lightly salted, and has a subtle buttery flavor. It's amazing how they can make such simple rice taste so good. Steamed rice is often overlooked, but this place knows how to make it shine.
