The Family Central Restaurant - Aylmer

We had a great experience during our first visit to this restaurant and we definitely plan on returning. The food was fresh and reasonably priced, the atmosphere was comfortable, and the staff were friendly, making it an enjoyable meal. We tried the BLT and Asian Chicken wrap with side salads, which were all generously portioned. We also appreciated the 10% family discount offered if you are willing to disconnect from your phone during the meal. Additionally, we were happy to support this non-profit restaurant knowing that they also contribute to other social projects in the community.

The restaurant offers a fantastic selection of menu options and accommodates special dietary needs. The food is authentic and delicious. We enjoyed live piano music during our evening meal, which added to the pleasant experience. However, please note that this restaurant does not have a liquor license.

The food here is excellent. The place is clean and the staff are warm and welcoming. The portions for lunch are generous but not over the top. The neat thing is that they advertise a discouragement of cell phone/tablet use. They won't slap your hand or make you feel uncomfortable if you use it (some business people and young adults were there with phones in hand) they just want to encourage an ambience where the focus is the people you are with and the food. Phone calls will always wait...Worth the visit the next time you are in Aylmer.

Very pleasant restaurant and very good homemade food. It was first time eating here; it came highly recommended by friends and I was not disappointed. In another review people said they were prejudiced against. I think the prejudice is in their minds! I had also read it took very long for the food to come to your table. This was not the case when we went. We were a table of 6 and received our food in reasonable time especially since most of it is homemade. We all had something different and everyone enjoyed their food. I found the prices to be average. I will definitely return

If you're not in a hurry and you love good food this is the place for you. My favourites are the Tacos, Enchiladas, Buffalo Chicken Tenders and the Belizian Rice and Beans as a side. The meals take a while to come out but I've gone often enough to know to be patient because the food is worth it. I can chat with my husband or my kids (they have LEGO for the kids to play with) while we wait. It's about connecting. You get a discount if you remain unplugged throughout your entire visit. Before the Central took over, it used to be an old dive of a hotel/bar. So beautiful inside now. We used to drive to St Thomas or London for a date night but now we're a 7 minute drive away from deliciousness. The manager Pete is super friendly and funny.
