February has been a kind of Delhi NCR Chole Bhatura trail for me. Somehow, every weekend I ended up at places which are famous for their legendary Chole Bhature. Such is the fan following of foodies that a casual conversation on which is the best place to eat can turn into a heated debate. After trying out the dish at different shops this month, I think that each legendary place had something unique to offer. There is no clear winner and each of these places tend to stimulate the taste buds in different ways.<br/ <br/ This time, for the first time, I happened to visit Nand di Hatti in crowded Sadar Bazaar and the flavors they offered have completely blown me. All their preparations are in desi ghee and they don't use any onion or garlic. Irrespective of that their chole turned out to be one of the most flavorful ones I have ever tasted. There is perfect blend of spices and it doesn't overpower flavor of chickpeas. They serve it along with pudina chutney and pickle. Their bhatura are crispy, fluffy and non oily. One can feel the difference in flavor as the bhatura's are fried in desi ghee.<br/ <br/ Such was the flavors that while returning back I was already thinking of when I could plan to visit the place again.
I was searching for some famous old delhi chole bhature place and find nand di hatti near by so visited here. Chole was excellent it was not much oily, bhature can be better.
Nand di hatti is a very famous place in old Delhi to have some good chole bhature. I have always seen people rate it quite highly and therefore wanted to try it for myself.<br/ <br/ I went there last Saturday and loved what they had to offer. One plate is for RS 100 which can be considered a bit costly but once you take one bite, you will see the difference. It is made of no onions and garlic but still is very tasty.<br/ <br/ The owners are also very friendly which cannot be said for other old Delhi places! Do go there and enjoy a good plate of chole bhature
