Although it looks just like a simple, roadside eatery, the quality of the food and the charming, local feel make it so much more... On arrival, we could see it was very busy indoors (full of locals but were lucky enough to get the last table for two on the outdoor decking area. The waitress sorted our drinks orders and then recited the menu of the day to us, comprising the usual selection of primeri piatti (pasta first course and secondi piatti (main course options. The hero dishes here were the pasta courses a wonderfully simply linguine amatriciana and a delicious pesto gnocchi which blew all the other pasta dishes we had had during our trip out of the water! The main courses were simple but tasty, and the crowning moment of the whole thing was paying the bill, as the whole meal only cost €25 (this included a 500ml carafe of house white wine and a Birra Moretti ! A lovely finishing touch was upon leaving, when we told the staff we were on honeymoon and they immediately responded with warmth and insisted we have a complimentary digestif of some delicious local liqueur. All in all, a hugely heartwarming, honest and enjoyable experience.
Lovely waitress, very good price and very good pasta- we enjoyed all the meals we ordered and a wonderful white wine. Not a tourist restaurant and a veruly nice place.
