La Costa Mariscos At Riverwalk

I was there yesterday, seating and service was fast, the server were nice and paid attention. The food was disappointing, the shrimp burrito was stuffed but complete tasteless, the salsa was watery and tasteless as well. The Fajita was OK but we missed the typical ingredients. For the price which is kind of high compared to the other places in town we expected much more. Overall I say this place is below average but in a nice wrapper.

I love to have lunch at La Costa. I order the Botana. It is seafood severed with taquitos and flautas. It is a big serving and I share with my husband. We request no chile because it is too hot.I was there during happy hour and ordered a shrimp cocktail for $7.It was very tasty with my nice cold beer.

I don't know if I just don't get it, but the food seemed stuck somewhere between authentic and Tex-mex. The queso fundido was really good though. I wasn't a fan of the execution or flavor or my dish or my spouse. I got the pick 3 with the Poblano pepper and it was fried in like a beer batter. So it was like think batter with sauce on top so it was all soggy. On top of that, the batter seemed burnt. There was way too much cheese added to the pablano and enchilada. The chicken enchilada had dark meat in it so there were like tendons and fatty pieces in there. I know some people eat that. Not my thing at all. My spouses chimichanga was mushy and pretty boring. The inside was pretty, but the floors were kinda dirty. It was difficult to get ahold of wait staff, but they seemed to be able to find each other to talk to pretty easily. I'd give it a meh.

I am always looking for and trying new mexican restaurants that i haven 't food from before and La Costa Mariscos was definitely one i wanted to try because of the wide variety of items they have on the menu. So for the first visit/delivery, i tried Enchiladas Del mar and two items i got Chile Relleno and cheese Enchilada . Enchiladas Del Mar has this super creamy sauce/cheese type of thing going on top and it was ahhhmazing : . loved it. I cannot overstate my love for beans/cheese on the side and La Costa Mariscos definitely has one of the best tasting refried beans. Chile Relleno was really good too with red sauce on it. I added them to my Favorite list in the delivery app because i will definitely want to try more of their menu.
