The Barred Owl - Balsam Lake

Never had a cocktail there I didn’t thoroughly enjoy to the last drop. And I’d you reorder, it tastes perfectly identical to the last. My only input would be to add some acoustic tiles as when it gets busy, it really loud and hard to visit/hear. But other than that- love the place!

Very impressive decor, to say the least. Intimate lighting, cozy seating, just enough space all coupled with the music makes the ambiance there simply enchanting. Jill Tanner are absolutely stellar behind the bar. The cocktail menu is sophisticated. The place just oozes style and class. Definitely a must visit in Balsam Lake. Cheers?

Never disappoints! Still be far the best lemon drop I've ever had. And the wait staff is awesome!

This place has been on my list since the owner was in my store after we opened up from the Covid shutdown. The Barred Owl has such a cool vibe, great cocktails and an amazing building that has Victorian sitting room upstairs, complete with gold-gilt pictures on the walls! If you’re in the Balsam Lake area, put The Barred Owl on your hotlist…it may become my new favorite haunt!!

We tried the food here for dinner one night and knew we had to have it for an event. We were very happy with the food and service. Everyone raved about the food, especially the butternutsquash ravioli, so yummy!
