The coffee was excellent and it was really pleasant to listen to the chatter of the family enjoying the end of their lunch. The restaurant has three rooms the one we were in seemed to be multi purpose another was dressed with white linen and table ware. They seem to cater for all sorts.
I only had a coffee and a pastry here at the Art de la Table, but I will remember my visit for some time. I will say straightaway that you would not make a mistake to step in there. My visit was on a Monday and as it was October there were few visitors to the hamlet, which added to the splendour of this restaurant. There are several dining rooms, a tree-lined courtyard (heated in the winter) and also tables on the sidewalk. Over each chair in the courtyard and on the sidewalk hangs a blanket for you to cover up with should it be cold. The young waiter welcomed us enthusiastically, and he was polite throughout our visit. The price, even for a coffee, was steep, but when one considers the 'ambience ' of Barbizon, then it is not expensive at all. The restaurant faces the very quaint townhall. This means that it is at the end of Grande Rue, but you would be going that way anyway.
Well located, we got a nice table and service was super. We got very nice food on the plate, very fresh and tastefull without killing the basic products. A chef with high respect for its products. I will go back this week
