Anyway, I ordered the smoked salmon sandwich and was told they didn't have any salmon. Ok - I'll take tuna instead. The server had to check if they had tuna. Thankfully they did. Next I asked what kind of soups were on. Apparently broccoli was "almost ready" (this was at 12:15pm - why wasn't it ready?), and they also had mushroom and a veggie offering. I chose mushroom and was informed that they had forgotten to turn on the steam table so it wasn't warm yet; but they were happy to microwave it for me! Oh, great! Overall, the food was tasty enough but the service was clearly disorganised and to be honest the place needed a good cleaning. I probably won't be back.
Club sandwich on home made cheese bun. Best I've ever tasted. Service was quick and very friendly. Prices are reasonable too! Definitely worth checking out.
I had catering from Julias this weekend for a special event. The food was the hit of the event. So good and tasty. The pasta and quinoa salad was unbelievable.
My family and I have been here multiple times. The food is great. The chicken quesidilla is absolutely delicious and my son's favorite. My husband enjoys the homemade large meatball sandwich. I always get a Montreal Smoked meat sandwich which is very good but always regret my decision once I have a bite of my son's quesidilla!
Being new to the area I have been looking around the Barrie area for restaurants that serve some of my favorite items in the hopes I find places close to home that can be “go to” places. On a drive down Bayfield St. I notice Julia’s Famous Deli. I go excite as a Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich is pretty high on my list of tasty things to have for lunch. Being a deli I knew a visit was to be had.On arrival I noted the seating area was small and a couple was present enjoying their desert, I assumed they had already enjoyed their sandwich! The lady at the counter was super friendly, I did not even look at the menu to be honest I just promptly smiled and asked for a smoked meat sandwich. To my disappointment she started to ask what bread or bun and I said rye with mustard please. Then I really knew I was in trouble when she asked if I wanted lettuce and tomato on my sandwich, it is a smoked meat sandwich. Obviously it was either her first day and she stared 5 minutes ago or Julia’s Deli is not famous at all.So the meat is not kept in a steamer it is nuked in the microwave and let’s just say unfortunately Julia’s Famous Deli is not going to be on my favorite list, at least for a smoked meat sandwich. If you have a desire for a deli sandwich and try here I can note recommend the smoked meat, sorry.
