Popo Chinese Restaurant - BELLEVUE

Its hard to find a good Chinese restaurant and when you do, it always starts going down hill. The staff are always lovely and accomodating and willing to rectify any issues, I just feel that the love is lacking and the food not as good...as it used to be.

I went to Popo's last night for a special celebrity dinner, a family tradition we have been doing for the past 20 years. Overall, I was very disappointed as the food was not as good as it used to be. We ordered a large special fried rice, Szechuan beef, Mongolian lamb, honey chicken, and sweet black beans. The portion size of the fried rice had significantly decreased, the texture was a bit gummy, and the lamb was the best dish of the night. The honey chicken was soggy and not up to par with our previous experiences. We had to wait a long time to be served and had to repeatedly try to get the waiter's attention. The waiter was friendly, interacted with the children, and took our orders efficiently. The food came out fairly quickly as usual. However, the table service neglected to clear our empty plates, which was unusual for our party of 7 seated at a table for 4. When it came time to pay, there seemed to be a language barrier with the cashier who was confused about our payment arrangements. My dad ended up paying with his card, and I contributed some cash. The cashier seemed upset and insisted that we couldn't pay separately. Despite the misunderstanding, her behavior was rude and unprofessional. I was very disappointed as this used to be our go-to Chinese restaurant.

We went there tonight with a party of 6. My grandparents are quite elderly and it was a great place to take them. Nice and quiet. Lovely wait staff. Really nice food. We will definitely be back

The wait staff are friendly and the food is really nice. Crispy skin chicken and chow kuay teow. We added rice as well. Presentation was nice and the food was delicious. A really nice touch are the linen table cloths. We got to Popo at...18.00 and had finished at 18.40. From taking our order to getting the food brought to our table didn't take very long.

Highly recommend the Mongolian beef, special fried rice and beef and black bean were delicious. All of our dishes were above average, the manager was very attentive and the place was spotless. Will definitely be returning
