Who would believe you if you tried to set up a restaurant in the US... not even a local restaurant, but a restaurant 600km away from LA? Strangely enough, when I tried to go to this restaurant, it was always closed due to a rest day, and I was finally able to taste this restaurant on my third visit. 2. UC Berkeley Unlike the hustle and bustle right in front of it, it is located in a restaurant area that gives off a calm Berkeley feel, a bit far away, and the interior has a truly classic American atmosphere. Considering that the atmosphere of the Mediterranean restaurant I went to in this neighborhood was similar, it may be a unique atmosphere in this neighborhood. The atmosphere is like a comfortable American neighborhood pub. 3. This restaurant promotes “authentic Chicago pizza,” which is difficult to find in the West. I wanted to go there even more because it boasted that it had won first place in numerous awards, beating out Chicago pizzerias, but wouldn't it be too salty and greasy? I visited with concerns. 4. Among the various pizzas, I ordered and waited for the restaurant's main menu, , and about 20 minutes later, a delicious, thick pizza was served. Thankfully, the server served me an appetizing slice, and the growing cheese made my mouth water. 5. As is usually the case with deep dishes, toppings are added to the base dough first, followed by cheese, and finally covered in a generous amount of tomato sauce. The ample amount of mozzarella growing underneath the red tomato sauce is truly appetizing. The prejudice that it would be salty was unfounded, but the tomato sauce was very refreshing and tasty. It's not too soggy, but it's not too light either. It's well balanced and the flavor of the tomatoes is very vivid. Here, the fragrant sausage comes together, and the onions and green peppers add an accent to the texture. 6. Dough is also important when making dip jichee. A somewhat sturdy bowl is needed to hold a large amount of contents stably, but the slightly crispy dough gives it a texture that is not boring. If you pack up leftover pizza and eat it again, it has the disadvantage of retaining moisture and becoming soft, but it may be good news for those who like a bread-like texture. 7. This restaurant also sells Thin Pizza, and although it says Thin Pizza on the menu, it is thinner than deep dish pizza, but thicker than regular pizza. Please note... Lunch specials are also available for $10. A large pizza, drink, and Caesar salad are provided. It's a great option for lunch. 8. The Caesar salad is truly amazing. Fresh romaine is good, but the sauce is comparable to that of most high-end steakhouses. Although it tastes a little less like anchovies than at a high-end steakhouse, it is world-class as a pizza restaurant's Caesar salad. The mild garlicky flavor is also very delicious. Not to mention the generous amount of cheese... 9. This house is a must when you come to Berkeley. Chicago pizza is naturally delicious in Chicago, but just as there are great New York bagel places in LA, the fact that there is great Chicago pizza in the West Bay area is just a blessing to the locals.

Home of the deep dish pizza. Lots of cheese and stuffed/loaded with meat. They're a bit expensive but worth it! Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. Vegetarian options: Veggie pizza or salad(s) Dietary restrictions: Speak to the person taking the order to make them aware of any restrictions. Parking: Whenever I visit, this location is usually packed. Hopefully someone is coming out while you're looking to park. Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap accessible

Was there with my family including my three grandkids so couldn't order deep dish pizza had to order the thin crust version. We were very disappointed. Pizza was flavorless. The crust was not fresh. It tasted like one of those frozen pizzas you buy at Safeway and pop in your oven. We looked around and everybody else was eating deep dish and enjoying it. So obviously they are known for deep dish not flat thin crust.
