Crispy on the outside, but mushy and soggy on the inside. Worst of all- FROZEN octopus, ice cold. Clearly they took this out of the freezer and then deep fried it, do not order this. Sushi lunch- 2 tuna, 2 salmon, 2 yellowtail, with tuna rolls. Presentation was beautiful. Taste was not super fresh, a little fishy. Salad was okay. 3 roll lunch- the sushi with the crunch was good, but nothing special in flavor. Fiancé enjoyed it. Otoro-presentation was pretty, and fish tasted good, but pricy $19 for 2 thin slices) Waitress was nice but service was not extraordinary. I probably would go back only for sushi lunch, nothing else.
Wow this place is soooo good!!! The sushi and sashimi are sooooo fresh!! The fish over rice is also delicious!Definitely worth the price! Such an awesome Japanese restaurant hidden in the neighborhood near KOP.
I enjoyed my meal at Otoro! I went with my family for father's day at 6pm; there weren't many people in the restaurant. We ordered the avocado bomb and that was delicious!! Highly recommend. Then, I ordered the sashimi chef special and it was good but not my favorite, that doesn't mean someone else wouldn't find it delicious. I do recommend this restaurant! Maybe go later or on a more busy night for a better atmosphere.
I had a lunch date with hubby here today. I got maki combo B (spicy yellowtail, spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls) along with salad. Each roll had 6 pieces and the pieces were rather thick. It was a good deal. The fish was fresh and delicious. The restaurant was clean and service was very fast. There isn 't a ton of parking nearby but we did get a spot on the next street where it said 1 hour parking which wasn 't an issue since the service was so quick.
Food is a 10 Service is a 4. My husband and I made a last minute reservation to dine in Otoro tonight, a local spot we 've been wanting to check out. We ordered a bunch of items including noodles, sushi, apps, etc and were debating the hibachi but were like are our eyes bigger than our stomachs? So when the waitress came over I said is there anyway we can order the children 's menu hibachi because it 'll be smaller and we really only want a taste since we have all this other food? She tells me no because we are not under 10 years old.. And I get it. If we were two people coming in asking to only older from the children 's menu and be cheap.... but everything else we ordered up until that was like $60+... Meanwhile it 's not a busy night there are maybe only two other tables with diners. Then for dessert I ordered ice cream and the ice cream comes rock hard. Completely frozen. A different waitress comes by and she 's like what would you like me to do? Microwave it? I said nope you can just take it away and remove it from the bill, thanks. It 's unfortunate that some waitstaff are just so poorly trained that then it leaves a bad taste in the customers mouth when we actually loved the entire dinner. Note to management: if you have two guests that are clearly spending money, it 's ok to make an exception and just let a guest try something off the children 's menu. Not a huge deal. Especially on a night when you 're not busy. There 's many other restaurants in town with exceptional service, I 'm sure we 'll do take out again from here because the food is terrific, but not worth dining in due to the service alone.
