Henry's Sweet Retreat - Bethesda

I'm returning a year later to update my review, and I have to say, Bethesda is fortunate to have Henrys! The candy is consistently fresh, which is just a minor detail compared to the incredible quality of all the homemade pastries they provide. This place is a gem and truly has something for everyone!

I ordered a cake and cake pops for a family birthday party. Both we’re delicious and beautiful! One week later and the leftover cake pops taste as fresh as day one. We especially loved the lemon flavored. Don’t pass this shop without getting one of their delectable treats. You won’t be disappointed. This family-owned business is one of Bethesda’s gems.

We have visited this restaurant several times because it's the only place in the area that offers freshly scooped Graeter's ice cream! As a local from Cincinnati, Ohio, I really miss having this treat regularly! We first discovered this place while exploring the area and searching for ice cream. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the fresh Graeter's logo and ice cream! I even called just to make sure I wasn't dreaming! They also serve another local ice cream brand, but honestly, it doesn’t compare in smoothness, creaminess, or flavor—just my personal opinion. My kids love this spot, especially for the over-the-top sweets they have! They often go for extra sugary treats. The restaurant also offers baked goods, some of which we tried; they were nice, but nothing as life-changing as the ice cream. However, my husband really enjoyed the s’mores cookie! The service here has always been friendly, and we will definitely be back!

The staff here is versatile and very helpful. While Graeter's ice cream is on the pricier side, it’s truly some of the best you'll ever taste. They offer a wide variety of chocolates and candies, as well as Acai bowls. However, the fresh fruit options aren’t the best, so I recommend sticking with the candy instead. I absolutely love the ice, and they even offer ice sandwiches! Do yourself a favor and try the s'mores ice; you won’t regret it!
