Arpiku Jatetxea - Bilbao

Out of 6 days across bilbao and donostia, we came back here 3 times, that 's how great this restaurant/bar is. The food is just delicious, the ingredients are very high quality. It 's a 10min walk out from the main square, so there 's no tourists and is not crowded. Plus there 's a terrace which is great during nice weather. The food, the tortilla is the best we tried...ever! there s a cod pintxo which is mind blowing, octopus was incredibly soft and tasty, and finally even a simple gilda was incredible. The fact is that the ingredients are great and the bread is fresh. Wine and beer selection are fantastic and prices are way cheaper than donostia. We came back for dinner, had the cod and chorizo , these were unsurprisingly better than the pintxo i.e. fantastic. Well done to the cuisine and service, nothing I can fault them with. This is a Bilbao gem!

My wife and I decided to give this restaurant a try having seen it change management recently. We booked a reservation for 10:30 Friday evening. The staff were very welcoming. The restaurant is at the back and is modern in its feel with large windows looking out towards Calle San Memes. We ordered Pulpo to share as a starter. Very nice but a little disappointed with the size of the portion. Approx 9 pieces. In other restaurants you would probably get half as much again. We opted for a Txuleton 1.3kg to share as a main course. Nice restaurant but a bit pricey. €50/head. The owner has another restaurant that has a Michelin star.

We had breakfast here, and it was simple and good. It is a pedestrian street with a large terrace, so you can certainly sit here for while.

Sin duda una de las mejores tortillas de Bilbao. La picante, con alegrías, es un vicio. Punto de cuajado perfecto, buen punto de sal y riquísima. En cuanto a las croquetas, la normal, de jamón, muy cremosa y buena intensidad de sabor. Y el croquetón, si bien está muy rico, tiene la masa más densa y al ser más grande puede quedar un poco frío por dentro.
