Food is OK, but a little thin in portion size. Service is fine, but a little slow when ordering delivery is reasonably quick. No rush to move clientele on.
We went to this cafe restaurant as a family, to get a drink only and to watch some planes with our small kids. As I understand it, this area of the airport used to be a viewing area in the past, until someone saw the cash in potential of the space and turned it in to a restaurant venue. On arrival we knew that in order to sit down we would need to purchase items in the cafe there was no question of this and we were happy to buy items in order to sit down for an hour or so. However, only minutes after we arrived, a person I can only assume was a manager bustled over officiously to tell us “if you sit, you drink” (after one of his staff told us it was ok to sit where we were and allow our children to watch the take offs and landings). While we absolutely agree with the rule, the tone and manner was pretty rude at best. We enjoyed sitting and watching the planes, but perhaps some customer service courses might not go amiss for some of the staff. The person who came to grumble at us put something of a dampener on our visit, and honestly the fact that the place looks quite sad, tired and empty could be testament to the not especially welcoming customer service. Le Panorama has an incredible selling point for plane fans and spotters of all ages, but it felt to us like some of the team working there really don’t want to maximise that and create a welcoming experience.
The restaurant is divided in two. One part is a cafe and the other, Le bistrot, is a restaurant . We ate in the restaurant. As the title says it’s a great view. The food was ok, French cuisine, but not outstanding. The service was very slow. Not great for people who are going for a flight.
This is not the first time that we eat at this place. The food is very average to say the least and the service is erratic. It is very obvious that the people eating there have no choice as they generally take a flight, nevertheless improvement on the quality of the food would be very appreciated, as the Toulouse airport is a very busy and see a lot of sophisticated travellers involved in the Airbus business.
