Being from the west coast the first thing we noticed is that it has a distinctly Portland vibe. Think hipster. The space is small but you can opt to sit in the associated Panther's Place which is a part of the same building but lacks direct access (you have to step outside). That said, your orders from Outpost can be had in Panther's which gives you additional seating and a very different vibe. It's a garden courtyard atmosphere with hanging greenery when in season and a couple fire pits when it's not raining. (Neither of which were applicable during our visit). We opted for the Meet and Greet pizza and it was wonderful. The crusts are hand made daily and it makes a difference you can taste. We also ordered a Bavarian pretzel that came with a side of cheese sauce for dipping. Delish as was the quinoa salad. My wife had a drink and said it was perfection. We were going to add a Smash Burger but too full. So much so that we took some of the pretzel and pizza home. Next time. Definitely next time. There is a lot to love at the Outpost including great service. It's a very fun and inviting place to hang. It is important to note that in it's current form the Outpost is a bar. Nothing wrong with that but again worth noting if you're expecting a sit down dining experience. It does offer one large table to share. Given the delicious food and stellar service the limited space and seating is the only glaring deficit. This place is wonderful as-is but it has potential-plus to be much more and we can't wait. We also can't wait to get back for those Smash Burgers. And breakfast. And pretty much everything else on the menu including the quinoa salad. The Outpost is a work in progress and one you don't want to miss. Trust me. Now go!!
Had the Margarita Pizza it was excellent, great atmosphere, service, and friendly people.
I'm pretty obsessed with this place not gonna lie! If you're into tropical, jungle, retro vibes this is for you. Every dish we've gotten has been insanely delicious highly recommend the fried zucchini, Bavarian pretzel, and the pizza. El Dusty lives in my heart closely followed by Sergio Leone. The bartender is super kind and will perhaps mix you up a fun shot if you sit at the bar! Every cocktail I've tried has been delicious can't go wrong with any drink at Outpost!
This shrimp po'boy was the best thing i've ever eaten in my entire life. No joke. My friends also had it and we are already planning our next visit!
Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere! Really has the whole package for a great time out. This is the sister bar/restaurant of Panther's Place, so you can enjoy two cool KC gems in one go! I've never had anything there I didn't love, and the staff are always very friendly. You will definitely not regret a visit, whether out to get cocktails with friends or for a tasty dinner spot.
