We always had great sushi and service here. It's been a while since we were last but still great. We love to order the cook special and let them do what they want. You never disappointed us. I would recommend that. It has allowed us to taste a lot of amazing and delicious sushi dishes. Thanks for the wonderful dinner it was a perfect end for our birthdays.
This is our favorite sushi place in Boise. The staff is friendly and helpful. Good to super sushi. We love the chef special, but you should go to an off-peak time to give the chef time to become creative. (I didn't try her Martinis. The disadvantage: its small and a bit hard to find. It is accessible behind the Ha'penny Bridge Pub and either from Ha'penny or a side door outside. Recommended.
Happy Fish is, in my opinion, the best sushi place in the Treasure Valley. Now, I haven't tried every place yet, but I find myself drawn back here over and over again. The staff is quick and respectful, and their prices are decent. I recommend getting a chefs roll when you go. It is a huge bang for your buck.
Place was totally empty and it still took over 30 minutes to send out three rolls! The sushi maker (won’t call him a chef) was more interested in chatting up the blonde at the bar then actually making our food. When it arrived there was very little inside the rolls and the flavor was lackluster. It looked like someone forgot about true tempura shrimp as the crust was beyond over cooked. For $40 I expected a whole lot more. Oh, and there are only about 12 total rolls on the menu. We are “one and done” at this place.
