McDonald's - Brantford

McDonald's is McDonald's, always bustling with customers. While we have no complaints about the food or service, we have noticed that the location of the big double doors can make it drafty and cold inside. As a result, we tend to avoid this McDonald's in the winter.

Wow, what a surprise! We stopped here midway through our road trip for lunch, not knowing that it was newly automated! There's some negative talk out there about these new "automated" establishments, but experiencing it first hand, I do not understand why, other than skepticism. Although automated, there are still actual people working to help you. We were happily greeted by an employee we assumed was the floor manager. She walked us through each step, for each one of us along the way, to the end. The food is not cooked until the order is placed, every item comes out fresh. We also observed they have a little bakery on premise. This McDonalds was like a gourmet deli/bakery, with many healthy artisan foods! There were three of us, and each of our orders came out wrapped separately, in containers that could be used again, if reheating later, or needed for a leftover. I wish I had paid better attention to the employee's name, we were in a bit of a hurry traffic wise. She was extremely kind and helpful, as we certainly had that dubious look on our face when we entered! It was wonderful being greeted by a happy and friendly face! If traveling in that area again, we will certainly stop in!

The Good - Building and layout seem modern with lots of room and not too busy today when we were here.The Slow - Service was slow. Despite only one person in front of us, it took several minutes before we were able to order.The Bad - Been promising our daughter all week to come here so she can get a Happy Meal and a Shopkins toy. However depsite the Happy Meal box advertising Shopkins, she got Barbie toy instead. When we asked for a Shopkins they said they were all out. Very disappointed...we feel this is false advertising. I wonder if anyone will see this from McDonalds and make this right.The Bad (2) - Washroom had an entire large toilet paper role out of its dispenser sitting on the floor half wet and hence unusable. I hope they throw it away and not try to dry or reuse it as its unclear what made it wet if you now what I mean. Toilet seat was also wet.

This is our favourite stop for a coffee and snack and who can beat the coffee and muffin deal for about the same cost as just a coffee at some other places.

I used to go for the value meals a variety of items for 1dollar and 39cents now it is 1dollar and 59cents. I find their hamburgers are smaller than what they used to be. I do like their coffee
