The last day in exile on the Weser should not go without good lunch. From the restaurant „Derby“ at the Atlantic Hotel an der Galopprennbahn we had only heard good things. Especially the cheap lunch was recommended. A short look at the literal app by Guide Michelin and we swung on the bikes towards Ludwig Roselius Allee, which runs between the two Bremer districts Neue Vahr and Sebaldsbrück. The Hotel Restaurant is located on the first floor. From the lobby a staircase leads directly to the “Derby” where we were kindly received by the Service Manager and led to our reserved table. We could have made a reservation because on Wednesday afternoon there was not much going on. Only later was the front area of the dining room filled. A lot of golfers went to the collective saturation ritual after work at the Driving Ranch. A few separate businessmen who then listed on spears. However, the large dining room seemed a little “inhabitant” than at first glance thanks to the space-dividing elements. However, only the completely wooden seat niches with the u-shaped white upholstery landscape and the deep-hanging designer spots seemed really cozy. Surely an excellent place for a romantic dinner with the loved ones. Back to the culinary opening at noon. Five different dishes sent the team to the head Francesco Cannistra today for the “sprint race”. twice meat, double fish (so he belongs in Bremen) and once without. With prices of just under 11 euros or around the 8 euros (Veggie Court), the pekuniär was completely within the framework. Sure, with the proud 6.90 Euro for the 0.75 l bottle of mineral water from the brand “Magnus Classic” the cheap lunch was at least partially subsidised. Of course, we could also choose from the rich food map that knew to meet the taste of meat fans with Rumpsteak, filled corn podularde, back from Iberico pork and grilled veal. A few appetizers, twice soup, four varieties of pasta, a Veggie duo and three fish plates finished the carefully selected selection that kept something parat for every taste. But our decision has long been resolved. On the printed paper sets at the table were so delicious lunch dishes, so we left the standard card. My accompaniment chose the corn podium with Sambal Oelek sauce, fried vegetables and Parmesanpolenta (10.80 euros), while the Zanderfilet with carrots spice vegetables and butter rice (also 10.80 euros) was the most promising. My extra wish to replace the unloved caper sauce for the mustard sauce served in the redfish was very pleasant. The beginning made a few slices of olive baguette with butter and a bowl of dill oranges. Everything fits into the wooden box provided for this purpose, which was placed in the middle of the table in front of us. Since I rarely drink alcohol for lunch, it left with water and practiced in wine tasting. The last piece of white bread was barely “painted”, our two main courses were served. My zander fillet came perfectly fried on the skin and tastefully spiced out of the pan. The mustard sauce had enough taste to balance the neutral butter rice. Feeded by gently boiled carrots, this was a very harmonious record that put the Zander well into the scene as a leading actor. My “sprint races” tasted great and I was happy about the right size of the part. After a well-founded cooking craftsmanship, my accompaniment also looked out. A fluffy Parmesanpolenta Quad leaned against the crispy corn podular leg. Among them, many colorful vegetables made vegetal contrast. The sharpness of the Sambal Oelek sauce remained within limits. It fits very well with the crisp greenware and at the same time extends the aromatic spectrum of the shell. Just like the fish plate, the amount of material was well dimensioned, which explains our dessert output. Overall, this was a very pleasant lunch that I can only recommend. The slightly overpriced beverage prices hold the scale with the impressive PLV at food. The view of a “Sonntags Derby” in which a weekly changing 3-course menu for 21.50 euros is added to the table would definitely have saved him also sports reporters and horse starters Addi Furler Gott. Especially since he had the best view of his “Galopper of the Year” from the terrace.
