Have been to the Raj a number of times before over a few years and enjoyed the atmosphere and food very much thus the return visit with friends for a treat Indian meal. We were surprised that on a Thursday night it was almost empty. It quickly became obvious that they were very short staffed, both in the kitchen and at table. We were made welcome but had to wait to order anything at all. We waited an hour and a half for our mains. The starters were the best part of the meal. Sadly our mains were luke warm and not the special food the menu, and our previous experience had led us to expect. We were sad that we didn't get the good food and service of previous visits and hope they can fix whatever is not working

Once again my friends and I visited this Bristol restaurant, and once again we were not disappointed. Great food super friendly service. The onion bhajis were a particulate good. We'll be back

I’ve been visiting this restaurant for over 10 years and never been disappointed, my job has changed and I won’t be visiting Bristol anymore and I’m gutted I won’t be here again. Food and service excellent but have to say really disappointed no draft Indian beer, waiter said they might have some nexus week, not really acceptable. First time I have ever experienced this but have to be honest when writing a review
