We've been a regular visitor to the Kensington over the years and always enjoyed the experience. Today's anniversary trip emphasised just how the team have stepped up following C19. Excellent food combined with great service made for a great experience. Also we understand the changes that have been made to make this a great gastropub experience. Well done.
The Kenny is a good local pub, one that you 're glad to have on your doorstep. We understand the food is good but have not yet eaten here. I can highly recommend Fortitude , a cracking pint of beer. Not a large pub but it does have a good vibe and character. There is outside seating available with a raised platform to the side that 's undercover.
The Sunday roast was exquisite—hands down the best I've had in a long time. The sirloin was cooked perfectly pink, just as it should be, and the pork belly was tender on the inside with a wonderfully crispy skin. The portions were generous, accompanied by plenty of sweet and roasted potatoes. While it may not be the priciest option, it is certainly worth every penny.
I ordered the fish dish, which featured perfectly cooked fish that was flaky and tender, accompanied by some of the best chips I’ve ever had. For my starter, I tried the fish cake, which was incredibly crispy and paired wonderfully with the homemade pesto underneath. The presentation of this dish was beautiful. We also shared other starters, including the chalk-bach forellen and saffron arancini, both of which were visually stunning. For the main course, I had the pan-roasted sea bass, which looked and smelled incredibly fresh. You could really tell that all the meals here are made from fresh, homemade ingredients. I also ordered the dry-aged ribeye, cooked medium-rare, though it arrived slightly rarer than expected. Given the busy night and time constraints, it was completely understandable. To finish off our meal, we enjoyed the black treacle and ginger-glazed gammon, served with perfectly cooked eggs. For dessert, we indulged in a rich sticky toffee pudding with a wonderfully sweet sauce, a beautifully presented strawberry cheesecake that tasted divine, and a brownie that had no flaws at all. The atmosphere was lovely, the location was perfect, and the overall vibe of this gastro-pub was fantastic. This is definitely a place you must visit! Pictures below:
