I am on the hunt for my next birthday cake and so far, I haven 't found anything I like from any place. We get here around 11:30 ish because they close at 3pm (already a minus for me). We ask about the cake and the guy at the counter says I don 't know. Seriously? You don 't know what you 're selling in the store? My husband asks are you sure and this time he says I think we just have vanilla and chocolate. To my knowledge, this place opens up at 8:30am. I think that 's a good amount of time to have an idea of what 's in inventory and what isn 't. Sigh...the search continues.
Really like this place ! Cookies and Brownies are so good. It’s feels like everything is home baked. And the coffee is amazing
Such a beautiful spot ! Came here for a too good to go order had the French toast latte some empanadas ! Everything was amazing and the bright color scheme works really well! Would deff come again alone or with a friend !
I’ve been coming here since they opened and these are my thoughts-For the neighborhood the prices are inaccessible. The empanada that was already expensive at $5.75 is now $6.00. That’s not including extra sauce you have to pay for that is not even filled up.In the beginning there were no tips and prices were supposed to reflect the business paying their employees a higher wage. This has has also changed…you now pay more and are expected to tip the employee? The empanadas are okay. And I say this because they just don’t taste like a 6 dollar empanadas. There is little to no seasoning and there is nothing memorable about them.As someone who lives in the neighborhood i really wish I had better things to say about Love, Nelly.
To be fair, I hold empanadas to a high standard, since I live in the empanada heaven of northern Virginia, where wonderful Bolivian empanadas (salteñas) are thick on the ground (not to mention a brief trip to Buenos Aires, where a highlight was the cooked-to-order empanadas in a wood-burning oven in a hole-in-the-wall takeout place). But these are just okay by any standard, I think. The fillings (we had beef, doubles, and kolache) are tasty but a touch dry. But the crusts are the problem, crumbly rather than crisp, and in one case so hard on the edges that it couldn't be chewed. But maybe it was an off day. They seem like really nice people.
