Saloon On Calhoun With Bacon

Stopped by on a Saturday night for live music. while the night I went had a Red Hot Chili Peppers cover band, I hear there's often country music which...love. for a place kind of off the beaten path, this place was hopping! such a lively bar, with plenty of space to grab a table, sit at the bar, grab a spot at the front by the stage to dance, or even rent a room. it did get prettyyyy loud once the music started, so don't plan on having any in depth convos at that point. also saw they had packer game viewing parties with some food drink specials. I would definitely go back for a cover band or a game day!

Pleasantly surprised with their fish fry! I had baked fish, and my husband had his fried; and we were both happy with our Friday fish fry. The fish was good, with good seasoning (and not too much, fortunately . The rye bread was soft, and the potato pancakes were crunchy (and huge! I had read a review about the best fish fry in the area and after trying them, they're in my personal top 5!

Sooooo tough to review as the experience here can vary wildly from one visit to the next. We visited here several times this past fall and winter for Monday night trivia, and found this to be a hopping spot for nerds of knowledge! As the name implies, bacon is a staple on their menu and comes with most items. The vegan in your family may struggle with the choices at first, but pretty much everything can be altered so if you're not one who puts pork on your fork, you can abstain. The Good: Bacon bar during the week, who doesn't love that? Also, the menu is varied and as I mentioned, very customizable for those that have more particular tastes such as myself. We came here several times and I was able to try a number of different menu items. They also can provide pitchers of water if you tend to be thirsty like my group. Food is good, though not great. Quinn is the most consistent and helpful server, and is quite pleasant to look at, too, so bonus points! The bad: Service can run the gamut from appalling to perfect, with little explanation or reason. If you come here and can't find your server for a solid half-hour, try again the next week and you'll probably want for nothing. Food can also vary from week to week, even when you order the same thing. The bacon bar is often picked over by 610 but it's supposed to run until 7.

I decided to get a Groupon to this restaurant because I have always wanted to go and thought this would be a good reason to check it out. I was definitely impressed with how delicious the food was. When we walked in it's a big bar with a stage and high top tables for the seating. I also noticed when we first walked in on the other side of the restaurant is a pool hall with several pool tables. The menu has a great variety of options. They have great appetizers and clearly bacon is a popular theme seeing it's in the name of the restaurant. I decided for my dinner I was going to get nachos and they were amazing! I would definitely get these again. One of my friends got their salad which was absolutely gorgeous and very delicious and fresh. And finally one of my friends ordered the BLT which definitely was out of this world she stated. They also have great cocktail menu and a full bar to enjoy. And they seem to have a great lineup of entertainment throughout the week! I look forward to returning to this restaurant and enjoying more of their fantastic food.

This place is horrible! So glad they're going out of business. I ate some food here, and got terrible food poisoning. Was vomiting all night.
