The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Gavin and his brother was really friendly, helpful and respectful. You will be our go to place we when come back up. Hope to see you soon.
My wife and I were in Burnsville, which we have loved so far, for our 10th anniversary. We walked around down town and asked several people about good places to eat and a few highly recommended Pig and Grits so we gave it chance and had some great expectations. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. When the best thing at a BBQ Restaurant is the Sweet Tea and Hushpuppies, it 's a bit of a let down. The Jalepeno Popper appetizer which was ok but could tell they had been made way early and far from fresh which seemed to be a theme for the rest of our meal. We ordered the Meat Sampler plate and it was very tasteless and extremely dry. 3 of the 4 meats were nearly inedible. We ended up only eating the BBQ pork. The sides were also bland, we got the grits and brussel sprouts. The waitress asked how it was and we were honest so they did at least not charge us for the appetizer. We were really hoping for a great meal after reading reviews and getting recommendations, but it just fell flat for us. Everything seemed like it had been prepared hours or days earlier and reheated as dry as it was. The skin on our chicken quarter was gray and very unappetizing. You could tell it was smoked in dirty smoke. The picture doesn 't do it just for how gray it really was. Overall a very unapetizing meal. According to our visit I probably wouldn 't recommend to anyone else.
We are locals who eat here fairly often are happy to support a non-chain restaurant. The food is always excellent, across the menu. Our server Jessie was awesome with fast service, reliable refills, a pleasant personality! HIGHLY RECOMMEND Pig Grits for date nights, family meals out, and groups!!! BEST FOOD IN TOWN!!!
I tried the meatloaf with cornbread and broccolini. It was so delicious. The meatloaf was tender and moist, perfect texture and flavor. The cornbread was baked in cast iron and I loved how crunchy it was. All around delicious. Our whole party of 5 was satisfied and happy. The chocolate torte and apple cobbler were also favorites at the table. Had a nice selection of beers and ciders. Great service.
We recently ate here again for a repeat visit and it was just as good as we remembered. The service was excellent, and we had wonderfully good food the brisket, smoked chicken, and fried okra were excellent and the onion rings were the best I've had in forever. And a nice variety of BBQ sauces to try out. My only regret is that I didn't leave room to try their banana pudding.
