Pizzas were okay, quite big and filling. We had a roast veg and pesto pizza each and couldn't taste any pesto. We had two got chocolates that didn't taste of chocolate either, just watery milk. We went for the family deal (2 pizzas and 4 drinks for £23.75) but got charged £34.10. I queried this at the till and was told the drinks invalidated the deal which made no sense. The place was carnage too. No one knew where to que, so it was a bit of a free for all. We came here a few years ago and there was table service and a good selection of quality food. It's gone down hill since it seams. Avoid unless you're desperate.
Today at the Cafe, we found a truly amazing space, we enjoyed a undisturbed opportunity to view a whole range of hand crafted artisan gifts displayed in the craft shop then drunk a really smooth coffee latte (3 “large” lattes £3.20 each), served in proper mug and felt great benefit from the opportunity to rest and relax before our visit to the Theatre. A really valuable gem of a place. I have every intention to revisit soon and recommend it highly to anyone who I might know would appreciate this special space …. And this I hope, might include you !
After an afternoon wandering around Buxton Park and in and out of the shops that Buxton has to offer. One can find temporary respite from the hustle and bustle of the outside space in the famous Buxton pavilion and it's cafe. The food on offer is decent. Don't get me wrong. It's not going to win any Michelin stars anytime soon. However, the food tasted good and was offered at a reasonable price. Location is great. Right next to the Buxton Park and the architecture of the building itself is quite interesting. Once one has finished the meals, one can take a constitutional walk down the pavilion and experience one of the many shops and galleries that are on offer.
Totally disorganised. No system for collecting food was given a number but it was never called out! I waited in a very busy queue at the end of the till only to be given the wrong order! The only saving grace was the giant Nutella doughnuts.
