Everything was great. As soon I walked in I felt like I had seen the restaurant on several television shows. I know it’s a staple of DC with good reason. My friend and I went for brunch. I got the chicken and waffles and she got the traditional Benedict. Both were delicious. Our server was very nice but not overbearing. My only recommendation would be to have more coffee options for breakfast/brunch but it wasn’t a deal breaker.
Cute place lots of character. The food came out quickly and was cooked perfectly, just wish they used a little less salt
Some of the finest of what Washington DC has to offer Oldest tavern in DC. Beautiful atmosphere with lots of dark oak and lots of people. Reservations are very helpful. The dress code is Euro casual. People are dressed in everything from shorts and T-shirts to business casual to tuxedos and gowns. Full large bar with a very good assortment. We split an Asparagus Campanelle for an appetizer. Perfectly prepared . The pasta rested on a velvety Alfredo type sauce. Egg was poached perfectly. Orca seafood platter was massive and could feed 3 or 4 people easily. All seafood was raw and incredibly fresh. The lump crab was seasoned with a delicate touch. Raspberry and mango sorbets with coffees were a perfectly light finish to an excellent meal. A great night out. 10/10.
Great service sitting at the bar. Good customers. Tasty food, prompt, fair price and good wine choices.
