Tried it for the first time as the major lure for me was the fact that they have a lobster roll! Having eaten many on the East Coast, I was hoping someone would offer one here. The food is the star here. My lobster roll was made perfectly and the split top bun was toasted just the way I like it. A+ on the lobster roll! The lobster Mac and cheese was tasty and had a smokiness tonight that compliments the dish well. The fried oyster dish was some of the best we've ever had using this recipe. Soooo good! The pricing is a bit higher as I paid nearly twice what I pay in Boston. It is to be considering tje sourcing and supply chain issues with providing thus in the West. Staff was great but the only thing about the facility itself was the dirty restrooms...particularly in the women's. My wife was surprised that a place like this would allow the bathroom to be neglected. We will be back as great seafood is so hard to find in the area.
Was taken here for my Mother’s Day in which I was very disappointed. The service we received was awful as our waitress kept forgetting to bring us what we asked for which was a straw. I asked for two straws one for my water and one for my soda in which by the 5th time I asked she gave me an attitude by saying she had to deliver a meal to another table first. We also called ahead of time to make sure they still had crab and lobster in which we drove 30 minutes to find they were out of crab as they only had enough for one slider. Waitress would not honor the meal with the sides for the sliders like the rolls. I felt for the price of how expensive their food is they could have given a few sides for paying $36 for a tiny little sandwich in which the Lobster was cold, chewy and rubbery and the crab was flavorless as all you tasted was bread. Especially for the inconvenience of driving 30 min out of our way after finding out they were out of crab. We were also charged more than what we were told which I don’t appreciate either. I am surprised an establishment can charge this much for their food that is not that fresh or flavorful while hiring staff that gives bad customer service. For the price I paid I could go to Ruth’s Chris for a few more and get excellent seafood and customer service.
Clam chowder was very thin and watery. I was quite disappointed. The beer selection was great though.Edited review after reading owners response:Could’ve just accepted valid criticism (that it appears others have shared as well). To clarify on my review, the clam chowder was thin and watery as I suggested above, and was primarily potatoes. I’ve lowered the review based on the interaction with the ownership.Thank you for your understanding.
I've been to Coast to Coast now several times, and was impressed enough the first few times to recommend it to everybody seeking GF food options, especially for the fish!Every time there has been something less than great about the experience, but I kept coming back for the fried fish. But this last time, I was very, very disappointed with my order of fried fish.To begin with my review of the food, I will start from the end and work backward in time. The fish used to have good portion sizing, with the pieces as long as my hand and thick as well. But now... the size of the fish pieces have been cut in half lengthwise and are thinner as well. I estimate I got about 1/4 the serving of fish than from my first visit there. I had been craving good fish, and I came away from that meal dissatisfied and wanting, and that should never happen!A quick rundown of the rest: the fries have never been good, never crisp enough. I assume they are cooked at too low of a temperature to get them perfect. The calamari was overcooked and dark brown, bordering on burned. The cole slaw is good. The tarter sauce is good. Lobster mac is okay. The shrimp PLATTER had 5 shrimp, so I would hardly even call that a shrimp PLATE (portion sizes again). Service has been hit and miss. I was once served a wheat bun when I asked for gluten free (that was corrected after it was pointed out. Thank you For a takeout salad, I was never asked what kind of dressing I wanted, with no place to specify, and thinking a house dressing was going to be included, I didn't find out until later that nothing was included, and a dry salad is simply disappointing.Honestly, I would see most of this as room for improvement, and would happily pay more knowing the portion sizes are adequate, but skimping on the amount of FISH (and shrimp) in a place calling itself a FISH HOUSE is simply disappointing. I would love to return if you could somehow fix this GLARING fault.
