Cafe Arena - Cambridge

Last Thursday me and my daughter ordered a Mega full English breakfast at The Cafe Arena on Burleigh Street. The portions were large however, the food on our plates were highly salty which made it inedible. Also, even though we were both very polite the staff appeared rude, frosty and very unwelcoming so we won't be eating here again. Maybe they dislike their jobs!

Since stumbling across it a couple of months ago, I've started visiting Arena Café on what has become quite a regular basis and this is due to the consistently high standard of service and food I've always received. During my visit this week I ordered a ham and cheese omelette and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the best omelette I've ever had! Super fluffy but also oozing melted cheese, plenty of filling and absolutely filled my plate (and stomach). I would also recommend the warm chicken tikka wrap and the mint hot chocolate... It's to die for! The value for money is fantastic, especially when you take into account its location in the heart of the main shopping area near the Grafton. It's also always well staffed and the service is quick, efficient yet still warm and charming. Decor inside is also really cosy and has a homely feel. Plenty of seating indoors and out. Close to all the big name shops and department stores. Well worth a visit.

Visited Cambridge for my son's graduation. The hotel we booked was without breakfast. So one day we went downtown for shopping and before that for breakfast. We were outside Primark and noticed this little café that served breakfast. So we decided to give it a try. The price of their breakfast was cheaper than other places. Their breakfast was large and very tasty. We only stayed in Cambridge for a few days but ended up having breakfast on two occasions. It is absolutely recommended.

Coffee, pot of tea and a slice of lemon drizzle that tasted just like it had come out of the oven, very nice. As a bespoke decorator and baker, my expectations are high and Cafe Arena did not let itself down. Very clean, attentive staff, welcoming atmosphere. Next time we are going to make it out breakfast stop. Recommend.

Unfortunately I can`t recommend this place. The coffee and food was just awful. Poor service, unfriendly staff
