This time, a soggy, greasy club sandwich, and a roast beef sandwich with two tiny slices of FRIED roast beef. Hope you have better luck than we did last week.
This is owned and operated in Spanish, most of the patrons are locals and not tourists, but the food is very much like an American breakfast place and was a nice place for us to get a taste of things we normally eat at home (we are in MX for several months). Waffles, pancakes, fondue, delicious coffees, and some MX flair like chilequiles and excellent sauces. This is one of our favorite places in Cancun. It is absolutely adorable inside! Very clean, a huge playhouse for little kids, a really pretty swing at one of the tables (adult chair swing, not a play swing) but we went with no other patrons and they let our two (well behaved) kids eat there. We have been here five times and loved it each time.
As an American that travels and loves to eat in different places, this boutique location was above the expectations I had for Cancun. I have been to many restaurants in Cancun and the Riviera Maya and it is rare to find a location as spotless, thoughtful and whose appointments are impeccable. The food was really good considering the price. I have had many spinach salads and I have not had one that good anywhere. The ingredients are of the highest quality and served with style. My husband had eggs Benedict on a waffle. It was served with a small bottle of melted butter ( real butter) which was a very lovely detail. He also ordered another waffle and said it was very light and fluffy. I also ordered coffee and it is one of the best coffees of the region. Made by the cup and I could have kept drinking it. The food was really great! I have read some of the other comments and I was surprised. Our waiter was really great! He was very efficient and sweet. He cleared empty dishes and made sure I was refilled with the great coffee. The food was made fairly quickly, so I'm not sure why other people had any issues. Of coarse we were there at 7PM and there was only one other family there, but there was several waiters roaming around. The bathrooms are spotless and beautifully designed. Bathrooms mean a LOT to me. As my son ( a chef) told me once, bathrooms are a reflection of the cleanliness of a kitchen. So I always look at a bathroom before I eat the food. The whole restaurant was spotless and just charmingly designed with a playhouse for kids ( kid sized) in the restaurant. If you have young children or grandchildren, this is a MUST see. I plan on letting my friends with grandchildren know about this jewel. If you want excellent breakfast/brunch/lunch food at any hour, stop in. My husband loves waffles so we needed to go, even if it was for dinner.
While food is good ( loved the enchiladas ... ), I have to admit that prices are a bit high ( 45 pesos for a cup of coffee ??? ) .The decor is great and waffles are not bad. I personally like other dishes in the menu but I'm sure kids will go for the waffle.Expect good service and good food.
This is a good option mainly for breakfast, my wife lives their waffles and I always go for red chilaquiles. You can order half portions. They brew American coffee with free refill. Place is not to big so if you go during rush hour be patient to get your table.
