L'eden - Canet-en-Roussillon

My husband and I spent the most relaxing day we can remember at this venue today. We arrived just before 12:00 and although we hadn’t booked we were warmly welcomed . We had various pre lunch cocktails which were very good and we were allocated a table for lunch for when we were ready and a double sun bed close to the restaurant. I chose the tuna steak which was perfectly cooked and presented as pretty as a picture. My husband chose the seafood platter which was amazingly good value for money and also perfectly cooked despite there being numerous components. We chose a bottle of house rose recommended by our lovely waitress which was excellent. We have to guess dessert was as good as the entree but we were both too full to find out. We took our remaining wine to our sunbed, enjoyed the beautiful view and sunshine and had a leisurely swim in the med. There is a beach shower and the bathroom is equipped to double up as a changing room which made the whole experience so much easier. It was bliss and I am ashamed to say I even had a little nap I was so relaxed and the mattress on the sunbed was as comfortable as any you would find in a hotel room! We had a lovely day and enjoyed excellent food and wine in a great setting and we think it was very good value for money. The sea access was gently sloping and there were a mixed group of people enjoying the venue apparently just as much as we did. The team at Eden were without exception fabulous and made us feel very much at home. Thank you.

We visited L'Eden for the first time on the recommendation of friends who accompanied us there. It was fabulous. We booked a table for lunch but prior to eating we had excellent cocktails with canapés recommended by our waitress. They were delicious and led us nicely into one of the best lunches we have eaten in France. I chose the tuna which was cooked to perfection and served with a homemade salsa which complimented it beautifully and selection of roasted vegetables. My husband chose the Bavette with Banyul sauce which he declared to be the best steak he had had for years. Our vegan friend was presented with what you had to call a work of art of mixed vegetables cooked in various ways and she said it was excellent. Our other friend had dorade which was also beautifully cooked. The presentation of all the dishes was impeccable and the service was perfectly timed so we felt unrushed despite the numbers of people arriving who were being turned away as the owner was clearly very committed to maintaining social distancing. We chose a rose and a red wine and both were reasonably priced although of very good quality. After lunch we relaxed on our reserved sun beds and if we had wanted it the waiters provided sunbed service too. The number of sun beds was limited which gave the whole place the air of an exclusive private beach club. We had direct access to a lovely beach and there were clean and spacious facilities on hand to change into swimwear . We had a lovely day and rounded it all off with Irish coffees before we set off home. The owner was committed to delivering excellent customer service and nothing was too much trouble. His team were the same and they made us feel extremely welcome. We would highly recommend this venue but it’s imperative to make a reservation or risk being disappointed. We loved it and will return very soon.
