I love Italy and their pizza. I always think every place has the best pizza ever, but we all really, really liked this place. It 's a little hole-in-the wall place that we never would have tried or noticed, but it was Easter Monday night, we were staying down in Tuscany after a full day of driving, and there was nowhere to eat, and all the grocery stores were closed. We drove by this place first and it looked like nobody was there. On the way back to our rental apt (to heat up pasta and pesto.. lol I saw a worker throwing out mop water, so I jumped out of the car and asked if they were open and made Pizza D 'Asporto or pizza to go. She said yes and yes, so I went in and ordered! This mainly appears to be a take-out place, with only a little bit of seating. I ordered a bunch of pizzas for our large group, and they were ready super, super fast. So fast that I thought maybe they wouldn 't be cooked enough for my liking, but they were cooked to perfection and so, so good. We watched the cook whip them up right before our eyes and insert them into the wood-burning oven. Our fave topping was speck (a cured ham and mascarpone cheese- SO, SO good. We took 6 pizzas back to our rental apartment, which was close to this. We also tried margharita (always , 4-cheese, diavola (spicy salami and buffalo mozzarella. Everything was SO GOOD!! We ate so much. So glad everything else was closed and we got to try this place. : Pizza perfection. Great prices, too. Wish I had a photo to share of the deliciousness, but we were way too busy stuffing our faces. Definitely want to return to this place. I think they are closed Tuesdays.
